Sojourn in the Land of the Bible
January 27 - May 14, 2009

     Now retired, Msgr. John Rowan, Pastor of St. Lawrence the Martyr Church in Sayville from 1984 through 2008, is currently on sabbatical in the Holy Land. There, he will be studying Scripture and walking in the footsteps of Jesus for the next five months.
     In response to many requests from friends and parishioners, he will be keeping a journal through which he will be sharing his experiences and thoughts on his studies and the sights and sounds of this sacred, but troubled, part of the world. The journals will be posted here on our Parish website as they are received so that all who are interested may have a share in this journey. (We think that he is kidding about the quiz at the end of the trip!)
